When do you expect to close? Please make sure that you get an original copy of the title policy post-closing from the bank's title co. If anything ever goes wrong with your legal ownership of the house and land, you need this for your protection. When we closed on our property in Portland, I noticed that there were no lawyers present except for the title co. That is not like NYS. What I did was hire my own title co. to make sure I had a lawyer there representing me and after the closing I received an original title policy certifying I had legal title to the house and property.
